Zero-waste gift bags for a waste-free holiday season

Zero-waste gift bags for a waste-free holiday season

Why wrap your gifts with new paper when there’s so much beauty hiding in the recycling bin? Every holiday season, tons of wrapping paper end up in the trash — after just a few seconds of use. Such a shame!

Luckily, there’s a better way. Our zero-waste gift bags are now available in the Redopapers webshop.

  • Made from leftovers from the graphic industry
  • Hand-folded in Antwerp by patients of the Stuivenberg hospital
  • Unique, colorful and 100% zero-waste

From misprints to zero-waste gift bags

When we recently got our hands on a pallet of silver-coloured misprints, inspiration struck immediately. The shiny sheets weren’t suitable for our planners, but they felt so festive that we instantly thought of gift bags.

We gathered more misprints, poster leftovers and test prints — all papers that would otherwise be thrown away. A small experiment quickly grew into a full holiday collection.

Because of the unpredictable nature of these discarded materials, no two bags are ever the same. And that’s exactly the fun of it!

Handmade and local

For the cutting, folding and gluing, we received help from the patients of the Stuivenberg hospital. This gives every bag not just a circular story, but a social and local one too.

You can also spot the gift bags at the wrapping stand of Antwerp lifestyle store Moose in the City. Shoppers who buy their gifts there will have them wrapped for free in our zero-waste gift bags or wrapping sheets.
